DAY 1: DISCOVER
We interviewed stakeholders and experts to understand food safety requirements, and consumer preferences. We aligned on a target temperature and duration as well as goals for branding and breakthrough. We established our north star – “Make it cold and make it cool.”
DAY 2: EXPLORE
We researched well-branded in-market products that offered similar benefits. We explored a wide range of designs with various constructions and form factors that would also create an engaging consumer experience, including personalizable pouches inspired by Crocs and pouches shaped like outfits for your Perfect Bar.
DAY 3: UNLOCK
The Perfect Bar team helped us narrow in on a simple but elegant pouch to start with as a pilot. Our winning solution was a form fitting neoprene pouch with gel coolant packs that could be frozen to achieve our temperature and duration targets.
DAY 4: ACTIVATE
We created a number of rapid prototypes to evaluate different materials for form fitting, thermal insulation, water resistance, shape customization, and printability – until we had a pouch that was a perfect fit. We also explored various pouch colors, stitching types, and logo placements.
DAY 5: VALIDATE
DAY 5: VALIDATEWe validated our idea by running a series of tests to measure how long we could keep a bar at the target temperature as well as testing the user experience of throwing it in handbags and backpacks. Our prototype delivered on our goals of creating something that felt perfect for Perfect Bar.
